I'm sorry, but I am taking a temporary break and so will not be adding any new patients to my list at the moment.

What to Expect from a Consultation

Medical herbalists are trained in the same diagnostic skills as orthodox doctors but use a more holistic approach, taking time to look for any underlying causes of illness. The first consultation takes about an hour and includes a full medical history and any appropriate physical examinations. A suitable mixture of herbs may then be prescribed. Most herbal medicines are in the form of tinctures (alcoholic extracts), which are easy and convenient to take. Teas, creams, pills and powders can also be prescribed. Follow up consultations take about half an hour.

Prices

  • First consultation: £65.
  • Follow up consultation: £25
  • Cost of medicines additional (from £7.50 a week).

What Can Herbal Medicine Treat?

Herbal medicine can treat people with a range of conditions, including most of those treated by orthodox doctors. Digestive disorders, menstrual and menopausal problems, skin conditions, allergies, asthma, hay fever, migraines, high blood pressure, arthritis, stress and depression can all respond well to herbal medicine. Herbal medicine can also boost energy and optimise bodily functions.

Not all conditions should be treated with herbal medicine. Herbalists are trained to refer patients to their GP if symptoms suggest the presence of a serious underlying condition.

People have always relied on plants for healing. Now modern herbal medicine combines traditional wisdom with the best of modern medical and pharmacological understanding.

Where?

I normally see patients at the Complementary Health Care Clinic, Exchange Street, Norwich, but I am taking a temporary break and so will not be adding any new patients to my list at the moment.
